A hydraulic press machine is a mechanical device that utilizes hydraulic pressure to exert force on objects. It consists of a hydraulic cylinder, which contains fluid (usually oil), and a piston that moves within the cylinder. When hydraulic pressure is applied to the piston, it generates force, which is transmitted through a ram or platen to the object being pressed.
These machines are commonly used in industrial settings for various purposes, including metal forming, forging, stamping, and compression molding. They can exert tremendous force, ranging from a few tons to hundreds of tons, depending on the size and design of the press.
Hydraulic metal press machines offer several advantages over mechanical presses, including smoother operation, adjustable pressure control, and the ability to apply force evenly across large surfaces.
Hari Engineering Works is a leading name among hydraulic press machine manufacturers in India. We offer a robust range of hydraulic presses, catering to various industrial needs. Our machines are renowned for their unmatched quality, operational efficiency, and durability.

FAQs
You have a small piston that you push down, and the pressure is transmitted through the oil to a much larger ram below. The ram is bigger, so the same push gives you a lot more power.
We've never bought a hydraulic press machine before. How do we even figure out what tonnage we need?
Start with what you’re actually pressing, the material type, how thick it is, and what you’re trying to do to it. Don’t start with the machine; start with the type of work. Tell Harison those details, and they’ll work out the tonnage for you.
Those are the standard production sizes. Between 100 and 150 tons, the table size goes from 600×500 to 600×600, and the motor jumps from 5HP to 7.5HP. If your work sits somewhere in between, worth asking Harison if a custom build makes sense for you.
The main reason is the hydraulic oil, whether it is low, dirty, or simply old. Check the oil tank first before assuming something’s broken. The old fluid loses its properties and the press stops putting out full force.
Fluctuating gauge readings usually point to air in the hydraulic line or a worn seal letting pressure escape between cycles. Neither is a disaster to fix, but leaving it too long makes it worse. Worth checking the seals and bleeding the line.
Daily, just a quick visual check on the level and condition. If the oil looks dark or milky, change it. Running a press on degraded fluid is the most common reason machines start performing inconsistently, or components wear out faster than they should.
Seals and the hydraulic pump take the most wear over time. The pump shows it first through slower cycle times or pressure that takes longer to build. Seals show it through small leaks around the cylinder. Both are serviceable; neither means the machine is done.
Automotive component manufacturing is a listed application, and the machines from 80 tons upward have the motor ratings and table sizes that suit heavier, sustained production. But the right model really depends on your part size. Call Harison with your part dimensions.
Crushing and compacting recyclable materials is listed as a use case here, not an edge case. Smaller tonnage models handle lighter scrap; heavier compaction needs more. Be clear about your material type and volume when you talk to Harison so they size it right.
Can Harison build a hydraulic press machine with a table size that's not on the standard spec sheet?
They build custom configurations, not just catalogue sizes, and have been doing this for over 30 years. If your work needs a non-standard bed, tell them the dimensions, and they’ll tell you what’s possible.
Tell them your material, the work you’re doing, your part dimensions, and roughly how many cycles a day you’re running. Call +91-982 548 7658 or email harisonmachine@gmail.com, the more specific you are, the more accurate the quote they’ll send back.
Yes, many buyers need a machine that fits their exact working requirements, not just a standard model. Bed size, stroke, capacity, and working style can often be matched to the application. If your part or process is special, customisation can make the machine much easier to use.
